Campaign selection
By default, exclusions can apply at account level. Campaign selection lets you scope them to specific campaigns instead — useful when only some campaigns are under attack, or when different campaigns need different protection.
Account-level exclusions are the simplest choice and right for most advertisers. Campaign-level scoping matters when your campaigns differ enough that blanket protection is wrong.
When to scope by campaign
- One high-cost campaign is under attack and the rest are behaving normally.
- Brand campaigns need a lighter touch than competitive generic-keyword campaigns.
- You run campaigns for different markets or products from one account and want protection isolated per market.
Selecting campaigns
In your Google Ads integration settings, choose which campaigns exclusions apply to. AdProtektor can also detect the campaigns actively sending traffic to this website, so you can select the relevant ones without cross-referencing Google Ads by hand.
Narrow scoping leaves gaps
An IP excluded from one campaign can still click your ads in another. If a fraudster is targeting your account rather than one campaign, account-level exclusion is the safer choice.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when I launch a new campaign?
A new campaign is not covered by a narrowed selection until you add it. If you scope by campaign, revisit the selection whenever you launch something new — or use account level and avoid the maintenance.
