Alerts

Alert rules watch a metric — fraud rate or blocked ad clicks — and notify you by email, browser push or webhook when it crosses your threshold. Rules are evaluated once a day, so treat alerts as a daily safety net rather than a real-time attack siren.

On this page

A click attack that runs for days before anyone logs in is expensive. Alerts close that gap.

Alerts are evaluated once a day

The evaluator runs on a daily schedule, so a threshold crossed shortly after a run is not reported until the next one — up to about 24 hours later. Alerts are the right tool for noticing a sustained problem, not for responding to an attack within the hour.

Creating a rule

  1. Open Alerts for the website

    From the main navigation.

  2. Choose a metric

Fraud rate, or blocked ad clicks.

  3. Set a comparator and threshold

Greater than, or greater than or equal to, your chosen value.

  4. Pick your channels

Email, browser push, webhook — or any combination.

Choosing a threshold

Base it on your own baseline

Watch your normal fraud rate for a week, then set the threshold meaningfully above it. A rule that fires constantly gets ignored, which is worse than no rule.

Channels

Email
Goes to your account address. Best for alerts you want a record of.
Browser push
Immediate desktop notification. Best for things needing a fast response.
Webhook
Posts to a URL you control — route alerts into Slack, PagerDuty or your own systems.

Other notifications

Separately from alert rules, you can enable excessive-click emails, campaign fraud-spike alerts, and scheduled email summaries. See Notifications.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not see Alerts?

The alerts engine is a platform feature that may not be enabled for every account, and it does not apply to tracking-only plans. If the section is missing, contact support.

How often do rules evaluate?

Once a day. A crossing that happens just after a run waits for the next one, so worst-case notice is close to 24 hours. For faster signal, watch the dashboard or enable the excessive-click email, which fires from the blocking rules themselves.
