Website blocking
Website blocking serves a 403 to visitors identified as fraudulent, rather than only excluding them from future ad targeting. It stops form spam and fake enquiries from ever reaching you, but it is a visible, absolute action — a false positive means a real customer sees an error page.
Ad-platform exclusion stops fraud from *costing* you again. Website blocking stops it from *reaching* you at all. They solve different halves of the problem and can be used together.
What it stops
- Fake form submissions and bogus enquiries reaching your sales team.
- Fraudulent phone-number clicks that generate real call costs.
- Scrapers and abusive automation consuming your bandwidth and skewing your analytics.
A false positive is visible here
A wrongly excluded visitor never knows they were excluded from an audience. A wrongly blocked one sees an error page instead of your website. Be more conservative with your threshold when website blocking is on.
Enabling it
Turn it on in Settings → Protection. It applies to visitors who are already blocked under your existing rules — it does not introduce a separate threshold of its own.
Conversion threats
Your dashboard reports conversion threats blocked — the fake form submissions and phone clicks prevented — so you can see what website blocking has actually stopped rather than inferring it.
Frequently asked questions
Does this affect my SEO?
No. Crawlers are always whitelisted and never blocked, so search engines and AI crawlers continue to reach your site normally.
Can I unblock someone who was wrongly blocked?
Yes — whitelist them in one click from the analytics tables or the person detail panel, and they regain access immediately.
