Click fraud protection for Facebook and Instagram campaigns

For Meta, AdProtektor keeps an exclusion audience of blocked visitors up to date in your linked ad account. You apply that audience as an exclusion in the campaigns you want to protect. With ConversionOS, conversions are also sent to Meta through both the Pixel and the Conversions API.

Setup

How to connect Meta Ads

  1. Link your Meta ad account

Add the Meta connection from Settings → Integrations for your website and complete any ownership checks. Each website is configured separately.
  2. Confirm the account is active

Check the integration status before relying on it. An active account is what the audience updates run against.
  3. Exclude the audience in your campaigns

In Meta Ads Manager, add the AdProtektor exclusion audience to the campaigns you want to protect.
  4. Connect Meta in ConversionOS (optional)

If you use ConversionOS, connect Meta Pixel and Conversions API as a destination under Settings → ConversionOS, then confirm events with Meta Test Events.
Capabilities

What the integration does

  • Eligible blocked visitors are added to a Custom Audience in your linked Meta ad account, for use as a campaign exclusion.
  • Audience membership is maintained hourly, including removal of expired or unblocked entries.
  • Works without Google Ads: each integration is configured independently.
  • With ConversionOS, conversions are sent through Meta Pixel and Conversions API with a shared event ID, so Meta de-duplicates them. This is the setup Meta recommends.
  • Direct support for Meta Test Events, so you can watch events arrive before relying on the data.
  • Customer identifiers are hashed with SHA-256 before they are sent; raw emails and names are not stored.
  • A refunded order sends a negative-value Purchase to the Conversions API.
  • With fraud protection active, configured checks can withhold conversion events linked to blocked visitors or crawlers.
FAQ

Meta Ads questions

Does the exclusion audience match every blocked visitor?

No. Coverage depends on the identifiers available, Meta matching and processing, and how your campaigns use the audience. A blocked record, an audience update and a matched campaign exclusion are separate stages.

Can I use the Meta integration without Google Ads?

Yes. Configure each integration independently.

Will sending Pixel and Conversions API events double-count conversions?

Not when both carry the same event ID, which is how ConversionOS sends them, because Meta de-duplicates on that ID. If other tags on your site also send the same conversion, align their event names and IDs.

Do I have to remove my existing Meta Pixel?

Follow the setup guide for your installation. If browser and server paths send the same conversion, align event names and identifiers and check for independent tags that might create duplicates.
