How to connect WordPress & WooCommerce

  1. Download the plugin

    Add your website in the AdProtektor dashboard and download the WordPress plugin from the install step. The plugin is not listed in the WordPress.org directory yet.

  2. Upload and activate it

    In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the ZIP, click Install Now and activate it.

  3. Enter your tracking code

    Open Settings → AdProtektor and paste the tracking code shown in your dashboard. Once it is saved, the script runs on every front-end page.

  4. Add your site key for ConversionOS (optional)

    If ConversionOS is on your subscription, paste the site key from the ConversionOS section of your domain settings on the same screen. Treat it like a password.

What the integration does

  • Adds the tracking script to every front-end page, using the WordPress script-tag API.
  • Marks the tag so common minify and combine plugins, and Cloudflare Rocket Loader, leave it in place.
  • WooCommerce purchases captured server-side when payment is confirmed, not only when the shopper returns to the thank-you page.
  • A follow-up event when a WooCommerce order is refunded or cancelled, so connected destinations can be corrected.
  • WooCommerce funnel events (ViewContent, AddToCart and InitiateCheckout) sent as Meta Standard Events, with product IDs, names and categories.
  • A lead event on submission from Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, WPForms and Elementor Pro.
  • Email, phone and name are SHA-256 hashed on your server before they are sent.
  • An optional first-party tracking setting that serves the script and its requests through your own domain, under /_adp.
  • A read-only Activity page with connection status and a log of recent outbound events.

WordPress & WooCommerce questions

Is the plugin on WordPress.org?

Not yet. Download it from your AdProtektor dashboard and install it through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Do I need ConversionOS to use the plugin?

No. With a tracking code alone, the plugin installs the script and your site is protected. The site key and the server-side capture of WooCommerce orders and form leads are only used when ConversionOS is on your subscription.

Which WordPress and PHP versions are supported?

WordPress 5.7 or later and PHP 7.4 or later.

What happens when a WooCommerce order is refunded?

The plugin reports the refund or cancellation, and ConversionOS sends a follow-up event to each connected destination. Each platform applies its own processing rules, so check its reports before treating an old purchase as corrected.

Do I need to mention AdProtektor in my privacy policy?

Yes. AdProtektor processes visitor data on your behalf to detect click fraud. If you turn on session recording, disclose recording in your privacy notice where required.
