Exclude fraudulent clicks from your Google Ads campaigns automatically

AdProtektor links to your Google Ads account through a manager account (MCC). You enter your Customer ID and accept one invitation. There is no OAuth token to expire or re-authorise. Once the link is active, eligible blocked IPs are written to your IP exclusions and every change is logged.

How to connect Google Ads

  1. Find your Customer ID

It is the ten-digit number at the top right of your Google Ads account, formatted like 123-456-7890.
  2. Enter it in AdProtektor

Go to Settings → Integrations for your website and add the Customer ID.
  3. Accept the invitation

In Google Ads, open Admin → Access and security → Managers and accept the pending request. You need admin rights on the account to accept it.
  4. Confirm the link is active

Back in AdProtektor the connection changes from pending to active. Google can take a few minutes to propagate it.
Capabilities

What the integration does

  • A manager-account link instead of an OAuth grant, so there is no token to refresh and nothing to re-authorise.
  • Eligible blocked IPs are written to your Google Ads IP exclusions automatically, at account level or scoped to the campaigns you select.
  • An IP-exclusion log that records what was written and when, for every IP.
  • Exclusions you added by hand are left alone; AdProtektor manages only the ones it added.
  • Unblocking or whitelisting a visitor removes the exclusion it created.
  • Automatic UTM tagging through a Final URL suffix, so sessions attribute to campaign, keyword and ad group without a redirect tracker.
  • Real cost-per-click data for a more accurate budget-protected figure.
  • A refund report that exports invalid-click data to support claims you file with Google.
  • Google Enhanced Conversions for Web for ConversionOS reuses this connection, with no separate authentication step.
FAQ

Google Ads questions

Does the connection expire?

No. It is a manager-account link rather than an OAuth grant, so there is no token to refresh. You keep ownership of your account and can revoke the manager access from Google Ads at any time.

Will Google refund the clicks AdProtektor detects?

Not automatically. Google still charges for the click that triggered detection. Excluding the source helps prevent repeat clicks, and the refund report gives you the invalid-click data to support a claim you file with Google.

How quickly do exclusions reach Google Ads?

Syncing runs continuously rather than in a daily batch, so exclusions are written shortly after a block. Google Ads then takes its own short time to apply them. A block decision on its own is not proof that an exclusion reached Google, which is what the log is for.

Is there a limit on how many IPs can be excluded?

Yes. Google Ads caps IP exclusions per campaign. AdProtektor prioritises the highest-value exclusions within that limit.

Can I connect more than one Google Ads account?

Yes. Each website has its own connection, so a multi-website account can link a different Google Ads account per site.
