Dental and medical clinics

Click fraud protection for dental and medical clinics

Clinics advertise high-value treatments and urgent appointments to people nearby, which puts them in small, competitive local auctions. AdProtektor scores every paid visit, blocks the sources your rules cover and lets you check the evidence behind a decision before you change a setting.

The exposure

Why paid traffic in this industry attracts invalid clicks

  1. Searches for high-value treatments and emergency appointments carry strong intent, so those keywords are expensive.

  2. Several clinics usually compete for the same local searches, and repeat clicks from a nearby rival are hard to spot one visit at a time.

  3. Appointment and contact forms attract spam and automated submissions that take up front-desk time.

  4. Automated traffic arriving through paid placements inflates visits and makes it harder to judge which campaigns bring in patients.

What to check

What to set up and watch in AdProtektor

Protection runs automatically once your rules are set. These are the settings and signals worth a look first.

Choose the closest industry profile

There is no dental-specific profile, so start from Healthcare, the closest match in Settings → Industry. Applying it sets click protection, enforcement and block duration together, and every value stays editable.

Fit click-frequency rules to how patients book

Patients often compare a few clinics and come back before booking, especially for larger treatments. Click-frequency rules are opt-in, so set the threshold and window above that pattern: returning patients are left alone while repeated ad clicks well beyond it are blocked.

Track bookings with ConversionOS

The ConversionOS add-on supports Lead, Schedule and Contact events, so booking requests and phone clicks can be recorded and sent server-side to your ad platforms. With fraud protection active, configured checks can hold back events linked to blocked visitors.
Industry profiles

Start from settings tuned to your sector

AdProtektor ships pre-built industry profiles, each with its own risk benchmarks and recommended rules. A profile's risk tier is what makes its recommendations more or less aggressive.

  1. Open Settings → Industry

For the website you want to configure.
  2. Find your industry

Search the list of profiles and pick the closest match rather than an exact one.
  3. Apply the recommended settings

This sets click protection, enforcement and block duration together. Everything stays editable afterwards.

A profile is a starting point, not a ceiling. Applying one replaces the protection values it covers, so review anything you have already tuned first. Read how industry profiles work

FAQ

Questions we hear from this industry

Could AdProtektor block a real patient?

Strict settings can occasionally catch a genuine visitor, so the safeguards matter. Recognized crawlers such as Googlebot are always whitelisted, never blocked. Every block can be reviewed in the dashboard with the reason behind it, and you can whitelist a person or IP in one click. With the ConversionOS add-on, a blocked visitor who goes on to convert is unblocked automatically.

Is there a dental industry profile?

Not a dental-specific one. Pick the closest match, which for most clinics is Healthcare. Profiles are calibrated on fraud patterns rather than business descriptions, so a neighboring sector with a similar buying cycle is usually close enough, and you can tune every setting afterwards.

Do I need to tell patients about session recording?

Session recording is optional and loads only when you turn it on. If you enable it, disclose session recording in your privacy notice where required.

Does it protect Meta ads as well as Google Ads?

Yes, through two different paths. Eligible blocked IPs are submitted to your Google Ads exclusion lists. For Meta, blocked visitors are kept in an exclusion audience that you apply to the campaigns you want to protect, and Meta’s own matching decides when an exclusion takes effect.
